LNA

April Leight and Lauren Alexander– designers and founders of LNA.
You must admit that a woman wearing her boyfriend’s shirt is among the sexiest things on the planet. The Creative Directors of LNA, Lauren Alexander and April Leight, knew this by experience and had the courage to transform the idea into a cutting edge fashion concept and lucrative business. Launched in 2007 as a dynamic and chic line of women’s tees inspired by men’s clothing style, LNA has now a huge celebrity following and puts forward a wide range of fashionable apparel for fashionable women.
Lauren and April are two California based designers who always like to be in the spotlight on the Los Angeles social scene. So, naturally, they have been round and about on Hollywood sacred ground. The two designers agreed from the start that men’s wear always seems to fit better than women’s. April confesses: “Actually we were both wearing men’s shirts when we first met. Men’s clothes on women are just so sexy and hot. A pencil skirt with an oversize shirt, that’s just so our style. And no, our boyfriends don’t mind.”
With this realization, Lauren and April founded LNA in the summer of 2007. And although the two girls started the company in April’s house, packing and shipping orders with their own hands, they had a shrewd yet simple market strategy to follow: Get celebrities! And it worked, now all the cool kids are wearing LNA tees just as their idols do. The first LNA collection was called The Boyfriend Collection and was based on “the simple idea of creating the perfect men’s tee for women.” The line focused on bright colors, pure unadulterated cotton and perfect fit. LNA first t-shirts reinvented the chic fashions of men’s shirts with a raw and sexy fit for woman’s body. The collection was launched at Barneys New York, Madison, and Henri Bendel. The LNA first collection received extensive press coverage in elite fashion magazine such as Vogue, Nylon and Elle. And, of course, the red carpet celebrities loved the new sexy fit of LNA’s tees.

Two years later, LNA is expanding widely featuring full breath taking fashion collections under the same creative credo that started the brand. “Our focus is always finding a new way to put our own spin on basics. Every season comes new inspiration and a new twist.” And, yes, LNA is always on the cutting edge of fashion. April and Lauren invented the much loved and much copied zipped leggings. Lauren admits: “It’s very annoying when people copy us, so we try to think that it’s a good thing, that we’re trendsetters.”
What’s really amazing about LNA is that it succeeded in two short years. Many celebrities have been spotted wearing LNA apparel. Gwen Stefani, Nick Zano, Nikki Reed, Ashton Kutcher, Megan Fox, Kate Moss, Marisa Miller, David Beckham, Emmy Rossum, Katie Holmes, Rihanna, Beyonce Knowles, Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson, and Madonna are just some of the celebs wearing LNA.
So stop stealing your boyfriend’s shirts and get even sexier apparel from LNA over the web at DJPremium and other online stores.
