Seven 7 Jeans. Jeans by Seven. History of 7 Jeans.

Model-turned-actress Cameron Diaz loves her Seven7 Skinny Jeans.
For over 20 years, baggy, street-inspired jeans were staples in every American’s closet. That was until Seven7 Jeans (also known as 7 For All Mankind), which brought Fashion back to jeans. The brand is single-handedly responsible for popularizing premium denim. It is considered as the pillar of the luxury jean industry, and is the reason why Los Angeles, California is the mecca of chic denim jeans.
In the fall of 2000, Michael Glasser and Jerome Dahan saw the marketing opportunity to create a niche for fashion denim. Both worked in the garment industry for years, and they themselves firsthand witnessed the lack of trendy jeans in the market. After deciding to set up shop in Los Angeles the duo commissioned the help of Peter Koral of L’Koral, who provided them the financial backing they needed.
The launch of the Seven7 jeans collection almost immediately catapulted the company to fashion stardom. In the first year alone, the company reported an annual revenue of $13 million, a figure never thought possible for their industry.
Because of the details, fabric choice, fit, and washes, the consumers adored the jeans. Their jeans are famous for its snugly-fit, low rise jeans – a denim style which the company made famous back in 2000.
The brand also produces Boot Cut, A-pocket, Low Rise, Kate, Flare, Wide Leg, Flynt, and Jagger jeans for the women’s line. In 2002, they released a men’s denim line which included the following styles: Relaxed, Boot cut, A-pocket, Flynt, Slouchy, Slimmy, and Standard. Both collections have special “washes,” which are created through a unique combination of fabric color and finishing techniques.
Seven7 Jeans is popular for its brushstroke-effect “7” logo with the “for all mankind” phrase etched underneath it. The logo is found at the waistband and on the back pocket of denims.
Beside its trademark logo, Seven7 Jeans are popular for its wide variety of embroideries on the jeans’ back pockets. For those who wear straight leg jeans, boy cut jeans, boot cut jeans, low rise jeans, wide leg jeans, Jagger jeans, Roxanne jeans, and Colette jeans, and a trademark squiggle logo is the discerning mark. An “A” embroidery embellished with Swarovski crystals personalizes the A-pocket Jeans. A “7” embroidery identifies the Dojo Jeans, while the V-shaped embroidery pinpoints the Kate Jeans.
The company also manufactures denim jackets, shorts, skirts, footwear, and handbags. In 2005, the Seven7 jeans unveiled a children’s denim collection. Seven7 Jeans, which are often referred to as “Sevens,” are popular among fashionable celebrities such as Cameron Diaz, Angelina Jolie, Liv Tyler, Jennifer Garner, Ben Affleck, Jake Gylenhaal, Ryan Reynolds, among many others.

Master designers of Seven7 jeans include great minds from the garment industry – Tim Kaeding and Larissa Noble. Kaeding is responsible for the Gap’s 1969 premium label and women’s denim line. Kaeding, after his four-year stint at the Gap, managed to popularize and modernize denims by using the best fabric and laundries in the world. Prior to joining Seven7 jeans, he designed and launched a namesake-brand of high-end sportswear line in New York. Noble, on the other hand, worked for Ellen Tracy’s design team. The Parson School of Design alumna also worked as a costume designer in Los Angeles.
Also Seven7 continues to push the envelope in denim design by collaborating with some of the industry’s greatest design authorities including Zac Posen, Pucci, Evan Yurman, and the Great China Wall.
In 2007, Seven7 jeans were turned over to its new owner, VF Corporation. Under the new management, the brand solidified its fashion roots by releasing a full garment line which included sportswear and outerwear for both sexes, men’s woven shirts, and women’s dresses. This line is available at the Seven7 Jeans retail stores at Los Angeles, Dallas NorthPark Center and Westchester Mall, White Plains, New York. It can also be purchased at the company’s website (http://www.7forallmankind.com/), and select luxury retailers like Neiman Marcus, Barney’s New York, and Saks Fifth Avenue.
Barely a decade in the fashion scene, Seven7 Jeans has already asserted its dominance in the denim industry. As of the moment, select Seven7 Jeans merchandise is available in almost 80 countries, including Canada, Western Europe, and Japan.
