If you thought clothing line Parish Nation  was a bit too crazy for you with its loud colors and eighties hip-hop-inspired menswear, this is the time to really re-consider. Naja Matthews from  SoJones TV met up with the man behind the brand, Chaka Wilson, and he’s not kidding when he says that Parish Nation has evolved.  Here’s the hotness you can look out for in their new collection:

  • Less-baggy cuts. Blow the dust off your exercise bike because fitted is back with a vengeance.
  • More preppy, streamlined designs with a bit of nautical-inspired details.  Think short-sleeve woven shirts, cargo pants.
  • Less wild colors.  Expect softer classics like khakis, light but masculine colors
  • Most importantly, Parish Nation tries to keep costs grounded and affordable in the $40-50 retail range.

Parish Nation has been on the upswing since it was launched in 2007 by former Enyce founding members.  The New York-based apparel line first got the attention of urban fashion fans with ”a really modern art driven early hip-hop influenced collection”. It uses its retro influences as a inspirational springboard for its trademark colorful shirts, shorts and denim.
