Halsey makes the most fun makeup tutorials!

The 27-year-old New Jersey native’s Instagram feed is a showcase not only of her exciting life as a pop singer but also of her creative beauty looks. While she can go the classic or Old Hollywood route with Marilyn Monroe-inspired makeup, she is equally adept at offbeat looks only the mind of a real artist can conjure up.

And that creativity spills over into her makeup brand, about-face. On top of being “high-performance, vegan, clean, and cruelty-free,” the line is described as “makeup without rules” so you can be as “weird, complex, messy, or mad” (yep, all those adjectives appear on their “About” page) as you want with your beauty looks. Lots of plus points right there, in our opinion!

An Out-There Beauty Look

Halsey recently uploaded a tutorial to about-face’s Instagram page, and it’s as out-there as you can expect from her. Created entirely using about-face products (of course), it’s giving us major rockstar-from-the-‘80s vibes.

For all the artist types out there who want to try it, let’s break down the look below.

Brows, Lids, And Lash Lines

First, the “Without Me” singer defines her eyebrows using about-face’s Brow Artist in Ash Brown. Next, she sweeps some Matte Fluid Eye Paint™️ in Capulets across her lids. Then she creates a subtle wing on each corner using Line Artist in Equestrian, after which she plays up the lower lids with Line Artist in Blue is the New Black. Next, she layers more pigment along the lower lash line using Matte Fluid Eye Paint™️ in Lost Unfound.

Shimmer And Blush

After adding some shimmer to her lids with a dab of Fractal Glitter Eye Paint in Tin Pan Alley, Halsey dots her cheekbones with some Light Lock Highlight Fluid in Sunstruck. Next, she applies Cheek Freak Blush Balm in Raunchy.

Finishing Touch

Moving on to the kissers, the pop star first lines them using Matte Fix Lip Pencil in Raw Kiss, and then fills them in with Light Lock Lip Gloss in Angel on Fire.

Next, she goes back up to her lids and uses Matte Fluid Eye Paint™️ in New Karma to create a line along each brow bone that extends to a bold wing at the end. And for contrast, she applies some Shadowstick in Oxide above and below her eyebrows. Then she finishes everything off with a sweep of Cheek Freak in Smash.
