She has won the British Designer of the Year award in 1990 and 1991 and also was honored by the Order of the British Empire. Born in 1941 in Derbyshire, Vivienne Westwood studied at Harrow School of Art. Vivienne later went to Middlesex University’s Trent Park College and also the University of Westminster. Her style has been strongly associated with English Punk culture including the legendary Sex Pistols; even so, Vivienne Westwood has adapted her edgy and flamboyant tendencies to better merge with the tastes of a new generation.
